Fosters are essential in rescue and are vital in us being able to save animals in need. If we do not have a foster, we cannot save the animal. We have many foster opportunities, some fosters choose to only foster short term, waiting to be transported to their forever homes, or long term, until they find a forever home.
Fosters are not financially responsible for the care of the animal. Animal Aid for Vermilion Area will provide all food and vet care, however we do ask that our fosters bring their fosters to the vet appointments. Please note that if you do choose to pay for the vetting, food and driving your fosters to vet appointments and adoption events, all of these expenses are a tax deduction.Foster Application Part 2 & Foster Application Part 3 -- Login info will be sent once approved.
SHELTER DAY SATURDAY - Vermilion Parish Police
Jurors have allowed AAVA to spend a few hours each Saturday at the
Vermilion Parish Rabies Animal Control (VPRAC) facility to interact with
the dogs and cats currently in the shelter. AAVA volunteers take
pictures, bathe, socialize, and temperament test. We could use a
few more hands to help out.
Must be 18 years old to volunteer at the shelter. Complete the application (pdf below) and return via email, animalaidvermilion@gmail.com, along with a legible copy of your driver's license/identification card.
